- some of you might know that right now the weather situation in europe is a complete mess.
kyrill hit europe a few days ago and we are still experiencing the effects.
so far, 45 people have been reported dead in europe because of this, of which, 7 in the netherlands-
the windstorm was reported to have hit speeds of 120 km/h, which is fucking scary if you ask me.
i didn't realise the impact and the intensity of this windstorm till i saw the devastation!
it was horrible because the night this storm happened, i was out to meet isabelle and the whole journey made me feel completely helpless and vulnerable.
i would be walking and suddenly it would feel like someone gave me a really tight slap. it was physically painful to walk anywhere!
buses were jam packed, central station was closed because parts of the glass roof collapsed on the platform, the trams werent working-
i waited 2 hours in the cold all lost and confused and scared as hell before i finally made it to isa's place.
and as i am typing this, the wind is blowing so hard bicycles are falling all over place, it is pouring hard out.
i told bram that if this is typical dutch weather then i am very fearful of my life.
global warming is as real as it gets.
